In celebration of the Raya season, BONIA looks back at the meaning of relationships and the strengthening of bonds through festive cuisine. We’ve curated a special Raya campaign featuring Malaysian IT girl, Ameera Khan that explores the nostalgic tradition Malaysians have always been celebrating during the festivities - the ambience of a room filled with joy and love, and the conversation families and friends have while savouring home-made pastries.

This Raya, BONIA builds its own B-Bakery to provide just that, creating a collection of calf-leather bags inspired by Croissants, a favourite pastry, made with pleated flaps and gold hardware in a puff pastry shape. The collection boasts an array of Croissant bags in six different warm shades of colours such as Magma, Red Glow, Purple Paste and Nero. The iconic Crystal Venice also makes its comeback in a crystal-embellished traditional weave motif as one of the collection's highlights.

“Working with BONIA for Raya has been exciting,” says Ameera Khan. “Café hopping has always been a big part of my lifestyle, and to have BONIA’s collection reflect that resonates with me.”

“It was eye-opening working on this campaign with Ameera Khan,” says Jonathan Liang, Creative Director at BONIA. “We wanted to find a nice balance between what our current audience likes and what speaks to the younger crowd like Ameera, so we created this collection themed around pastries birthed from café culture that is prominent among them.”

 

    

 

The collection’s campaign video depicts Ameera Khan deciding what to bake for Raya and is a satirical take on a step-by-step baking tutorial, set in a quaint, ornate environment.
