To commemorate five decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and global influence, BONIA unveiled an exclusive pop-up event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur under the theme, “The BONIA 50-Year Voyage: Celebrating Our Journey with You.” This special milestone is a heartfelt tribute to our journey, loyal supporters, and the exciting future that lies ahead.

Our celebration was graced by the presence of global K-pop superstar and BONIA ambassador, Nayeon from the renowned group TWICE. With her vibrant spirit and international appeal, Nayeon perfectly embodies the essence of BONIA’s legacy and forward-looking vision. 

 

The BONIA 50-Year Voyage: A Journey Through the Senses 

For our 50th anniversary, we wanted to do more than just look back — we wanted to bring our journey to life for our guests. The 5 Senses Journey was created to offer an immersive experience, inviting everyone to explore the heritage and spirit of BONIA through sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste.

 

Sight: At the heart of the pop-up, we proudly showcased the illuminated BONIA Globe, a symbol of our global exploration and timeless elegance. Visitors were taken on a visual journey, highlighting iconic imagery such as the romantic gondolas of Venice, sleek Vespas, our signature luggage trunks, and famed landmarks from cities like Rome and Bologna.  

The BONIA Globe represents not just where we’ve been, but where we are headed — a testament to our legacy and our future. This stunning installation was an Instagram-worthy moment, capturing the attention of all who passed by.  

 

Listen: Guests were invited into a magical 360-degree mirrored chamber, where instrumental music filled the space, setting the perfect mood. Mirrored surfaces reflected our iconic globe print, creating an infinite view that symbolised the endless possibilities ahead for BONIA.  

This captivating, starlit environment provided another picture-perfect opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the BONIA journey. 

 

Smell: Our Aroma Station offered a sensory escape through curated scents inspired by destinations around the world. This olfactory experience allowed guests to indulge in the essence of BONIA’s travels.

 

Touch: As part of the final leg of the journey, guests participated in a prize draw — offering a fun and interactive end to the experience.

Taste:  Visitors could also take a moment to enjoy a cup of coffee at Café BONIA, where we partnered with 103 Coffee to provide complimentary beverages daily to the first 100 guests.

 

Celebrating Our Craftsmanship and Heritage 

One of the highlights of the event was our towering Giant Leather Icon, an 8-foot installation detailing our dedication to craftsmanship and architectural elegance. This grand piece reflected BONIA’s leather-making heritage while looking ahead to the future of fashion. It stood as a powerful representation of the fluidity, innovation, and artistry that have defined us for the past 50 years.

At the event, we also unveiled our highly anticipated 50th Anniversary Sustainable Collection, chosen by our ambassador Nayeon. This collection features our exclusive globe print on a range of meticulously designed accessories, including backpacks, totes, and crossbody bags. More than just a celebration of our past, this collection reflects our commitment to sustainability, incorporating eco-friendly materials and ethical production practices. With this launch, we are not only honouring our rich history but also embracing a future of responsible fashion.

 

Personalisation: Making Each BONIA Piece Uniquely Yours 

Personalisation has always been a core part of the BONIA experience, and we made sure to offer our guests the chance to create something truly unique at the pop-up. Visitors had the opportunity to design their own Bespoke BONIA Bags using luxurious Italian Nappa leather, selecting their preferred hardware finishes and adding personalised initials. The result? A one-of-a-kind keepsake that celebrates BONIA’s timeless elegance with a personal touch.
